Why Can't I Set My Rate to $0?

Flux blocks $0 entries for hourly rates, overtime rates, and salary/project gross amounts — you'll see a red error if you try. This is because a $0 rate can't meaningfully contribute to your income goal or tax estimate, so Flux treats it as an invalid entry rather than a valid "no income" value.

If a source genuinely isn't earning anything right now, consider marking it inactive instead of leaving a $0 rate in place.
