Logging a Tax Payment

If you've made an estimated tax payment (quarterly or otherwise), log it so Flux can reflect it in your Annual Tax Overview.

  1. Click Add Entry and choose Tax Payment.
  2. Optionally select an associated source, or leave it as "Not source-specific" for a general payment.
  3. Choose the tax type — Federal, State, or Local/City.
  4. Choose the tax year.
  5. Choose which quarter this payment is for (Q1–Q4, or "Not quarterly" for a one-off payment). Once you pick a quarter, Flux shows you that quarter's due date.
  6. Enter the amount, the date you paid it, and an optional note.
  7. Click Save Entry, review the summary, then Complete Log to save.

Logged tax payments show up separately from tax withheld through payroll — Flux tracks them as "Logged" payments in your Estimated Tax Summary, and subtracts them (along with anything withheld) from your estimated total to show what you may still owe.
